Angel
The current economic climate has created hardships for many
including our beloved Airedales. Angel’s owner gave her up when she had to move
out of her home. Her loss will be one lucky Airedale lover’s gain.
Definitely the “large type” of Airedale, Angel is 26” tall
at the shoulders and 42” long. She is a bit overweight at 77#. So far, she has
been remarkably calm for a 5 year old terrier but that may change once she
settles into her forever home.
Angel has excellent house manners and of course, is housebroken.
She was allowed on furniture in her previous home. In her foster home, she is currently
sleeping on the couch.
When she was groomed, Angel was put in a crate and did OK.
Because of her size, she will require a giant Vari Kennel or a comparable size wire
crate (48” x 32” x 35”) if she is to be crated for any length of time.
The groomer had a difficult time. Angel is strong willed and
very vocal. She let the groomer know which parts she didn’t want handled. For
safety’s sake, Angel was muzzled while her tail, tummy and feet were handled.
Angel knows basic commands like sit, shake, down, and stay.
She walks extremely well on a leash. Even with the distraction of other dogs,
she is easy to keep under control and continues to heel. She does exhibit protective
behavior when she is approached by a stranger. Her adopter will have to be
aware and stay on top of the situation.
The ideal home for Angel will have a fenced yard and a male
canine companion. Her adopter needs to be Airedale experienced and able to
handle a big, strong dog.
Angel was “cat tested” and showed no aggression toward that
feline. However, there are no guarantees that she will get along with every cat
or that she won’t chase a cat if it runs. Placement with a cat will require a
person experienced in successfully living with Airedales and cats.

You must reside in MI or a bordering state.
